Elsa Izere has nearly a decade of investment experience in solar energy and climate finance, and is deeply familiar with emerging African markets, gained serving as a Portfolio Manager at the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Gabon and as a Senior Investment Manager at Sawa Energy.
She has partnered with institutions like the World Bank Group, S&P Global, and the OPSWF Network and has managed investment portfolios valued over $100 million, unlocking value through value-based management practices and the commercialization of carbon credits.
She is proficient with the full investment cycle from origination to closing and has led end-to-end fundraising and deployment for Commercial & Industrial solar projects across Uganda, Rwanda, and Zambia. Having grown up on three continents, her diverse background has given her sharp insights into global systemic challenges, fueling her passion for sustainable development.
Elsa holds a degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign and is committed to advancing renewable energy initiatives in the region from her base in Nairobi, Kenya.
